DC Music Live takes to the pavement to find out about the musicians and performers we pass on any given day on the streets of D.C.

On a Thursday afternoon near Ballston Metro Station, you may see the Dukes of Groove strumming a few jazz funk tunes for commuters passing by.
The band includes five members, but at Ballston you’ll typically see the lead guitarist and saxophone performing improvisational jazz. The high school musicians have hopes of becoming a professional sound some day, but for now you can catch them Thursday and Friday early evenings near Ballston.
