Bowling for Soup / Patent Pending
It’s not quite the weekend, but Jammin’ Java has a great show coming up on Monday, April 23 featuring pop-punk band Bowling for Soup, and their supporting acts Patent Pending,Sandlot Heroes, and Freshman 15. Doors are at 6:00pm. Tickets are $15 advance, and $18 the day of the show.
Legendary punk rock band Bad Brains will be hitting the stage at the Howard Theatre tomorrow, April 21. Formed in the early ‘80s, Bad Brains are influenced by both reggae and pure punk rage, giving them a unique sound. The band is one of the most important and influential bands out there today, and are constantly put in the same breath as the Sex Pistols, Black Flag, and The Clash. Doors are at 6:00pm. Tickets are $29 in advance, $32 the day of the show.
Daryl Hall, best known as one half of the musical duo Hall & Oates, will be playing the Warner Theatre tonight, April 20. As a solo act, Hall has scored several Billboard chart hits in the ‘70s and early ‘80s, and is widely regarded as one of the best soul singers of his generation. He’ll be joined by supporting acts Sharon Jones and Allen Stone. Show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets range between $55-$125.
