Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, DC Music Live has officially turned 1 year old!! [cue clapping, cheers, and celebration]
This little site of ours launched on March 9, 2012 with what is most likely considered the greatest piece of music journalism in the history of music journalism. Go ahead, read it. We know you’ll agree.
As we look back on the last year, we want to thank every single one of you who has ever visited this site, read an article, tweeted about us, retweeted, like us or a status on Facebook, or even just loves music.
When we started this thing last year we never expected any of what we’ve been able to achieve: over 200 likes on Facebook, almost 800 followers on Twitter, countless shares, retweets, tweets, and despite the fact that we are a D.C.-centric website, we’ve had views coming from all over the country, and even as far away as China!
And we won’t be stopping any time soon. We have so much more to do, and we’re excited about where the next year will take us. We have new staff members and contributors, and are always looking for more! We’ve got ideas for new, great features. And if anybody has any ideas for content or features they’d like to see from us, please have your people hit up our people at DCMusicLive.firstname.lastname@example.org, because we’re always open for new ideas. As long as they rule, and we can take credit for thinking them up.
So, as we blow out the candles on our first year of existence, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. For allowing us to do what we love, we thank you. You all rule. And are cool. And are sitting on a stool. And swimming in a pool. Hopefully you don’t drool.
Ok, that’s enough. See ya around!
