You hear a lot about DIY these days in the music and art worlds. Its about helping each other, putting together great shows, getting the word out, and bringing together musicians, artists, and fans when they otherwise might have missed each other.
Taking on the DIY spirit and running with it, local photographer, Jeff Myers, and D.C. bands, Watermelon and Spades, are working with Lost Generation Productions
, and are putting on a fundraising event for anyone and everyone who loves awesome music and just might want to bring a photograph of one of their favorite bands, national and local, home with them.

This Sunday, starting 4pm, at Columbia Heights bar/restaurant and music venue, The Pinch, you will have the chance to participate in a silent auction to bid on some of Jeff Myer’s best work, and enjoy a great show, courtesy of Watermelon and Spades.
Proceeds from the auction will support local D.C. bands with a remainder going to help launch Lost Generation, an organization dedicated to uniting, supporting, and promoting DIY arts and productions in D.C.
Even if you aren’t in the market for some artwork for your walls, you are welcome to enjoy the show. Plus anything on The Pinch’s menu and their extensive list of craft beers.
Doors open at 4pm and the silent auction begins. Bidding ends at 7:30pm. Spades hits the stage at 6pm. Watermelon starts their set at 8pm. There is no cover.
