Music lovers everywhere: get excited, there’s a new mobile app available especially for you! At midnight, musx – pronounced myo͞oziks – pulled a Beyonce and launched its new social sharing and music exploration app “musx.”
Available for free in the iTunes app store, the service is focused heavily on the social component by creating a simple way to communicate and share music with friends, artists, venues, and blogs without those songs getting lost in someone’s social media feed.
Think Instagram meets Spotify. This app is perfect for those of you who have friends who constantly make music suggestions but you can never quite keep up. Now, your friend-approved music and videos are all in one place.
According to a press release, the Washington D.C.-based founders Eddie Sniezek and John Reardon’s goal was to create a place where people bring their favorite songs and videos from wherever they listen to music and share them with their friends while simultaneously making it possible for people to explore what music their friends are recommending all in one place.
“When you open musx, it’s like stepping into a party where you’ve chosen all of the guests. It’s exciting because every time you tap the musx icon you might discover your next favorite song or introduce someone to theirs,” says Reardon.
musx allows users to curate their individual music experience in seconds. After opening the app, users can simply search for a song or select from the “Popular Now” section add it to their queue – like, comment, and share and re-share songs with friends on multiple platforms including both Facebook and Twitter.
